Athena: Journal of Social, Culture and Society is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to advancing scholarly knowledge on social, cultural, and societal dynamics, with particular attention to the diversity of Indonesia and the broader Asian region. The journal provides an interdisciplinary platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to critically examine the complex relationships among culture, society, identity, institutions, communities, and processes of social transformation.

Recognizing Indonesia as one of the world's most culturally, ethnically, linguistically, and socially diverse societies, Athena particularly welcomes research that explores local and indigenous knowledge, cultural heritage, social institutions, community practices, identity formation, multiculturalism, religion and society, gender relations, migration, social inequality, digital culture, and contemporary social change. The journal also encourages comparative and transnational studies that situate Indonesian experiences within Southeast Asian, Asian, and wider global contexts.
