Article Processing Charges & Other Author Fees

Free Submission • APC After Acceptance • No Withdrawal Fee

Salus Publica: Journal of Community Service applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to accepted manuscripts to support editorial administration, publication production, DOI registration, journal infrastructure, and online dissemination. There is no fee for manuscript submission or peer-review evaluation. The APC becomes payable only after the manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

The journal charges an APC based on the author category. The applicable APC is IDR 1,000,000 for Indonesian authors and USD 100 for international authors, per accepted article. The APC is charged once per accepted manuscript, regardless of the number of authors.

What Does the APC Cover?

The Article Processing Charge supports the journal's standard publication services, including:

• Editorial administration and manuscript handling;
• Copyediting and standard publication preparation;
• Article formatting and layout production;
• DOI registration and publication metadata management;
• Online publication and journal platform maintenance;
• Open-access dissemination of published articles.

APC Payment Procedure

Authors are not required to make any payment during manuscript submission, editorial screening, or peer-review evaluation.

1. The manuscript undergoes editorial screening and double-blind peer review.
2. The Editor-in-Chief or assigned editor makes the final editorial decision.
3. If the manuscript is accepted, the Editorial Office notifies the corresponding author of the applicable APC.
4. Payment instructions are provided through official journal communication.
5. After the required payment is completed and publication requirements are fulfilled, the article proceeds to the publication production stage.

Important: Payment of the APC does not guarantee manuscript acceptance, and no payment is required for rejected manuscripts.

Manuscript Withdrawal

Authors may request manuscript withdrawal by contacting the Editorial Office and providing the manuscript identification number, title, reason for withdrawal, and confirmation from all authors where applicable.

No withdrawal fee is charged. Authors are nevertheless expected to avoid unnecessary withdrawal, particularly after substantial editorial or peer-review work has been completed.

A manuscript is considered withdrawn only after the Editorial Office has confirmed the withdrawal. Authors should not submit the same manuscript to another journal while it remains under consideration by Salus Publica.

Transparency of Author Charges

The journal publicly discloses its applicable Article Processing Charges and does not impose undisclosed mandatory fees for standard submission, editorial evaluation, peer review, publication, or manuscript withdrawal. Any changes to the APC or other author charges will be communicated transparently through the journal website.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are based on manuscript relevance, academic quality, originality, ethical compliance, and the results of the journal's double-blind peer-review process, normally involving at least two independent reviewers. The ability or willingness of authors to pay the APC does not influence manuscript evaluation, reviewer recommendations, or acceptance decisions.

Open Access Publishing

Salus Publica provides immediate open access to its published scholarly content without subscription charges or reader access fees. The APC supports the publication process and does not restrict readers' access to published articles. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license, in accordance with the journal's Copyright and Licensing Policy.
