Author Guidelines

Authors are requested to read these guidelines carefully before submitting a manuscript to DEMETER: Journal of Farming and Agriculture. Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal's basic requirements may be returned to the authors for technical correction before editorial evaluation.

A. General Requirements

  1. Manuscripts must be written in clear and academically appropriate English.
  2. The manuscript should normally be between 5 and 12 pages. Manuscripts exceeding 12 pages may be considered when the additional length is scientifically justified and approved by the editorial team.
  3. Authors must prepare their manuscripts using the official DEMETER Article Template at the time of submission.
  4. References must follow the IEEE citation style. Authors are strongly encouraged to use a reference management application such as Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or another reliable reference manager to maintain citation consistency.
  5. The manuscript must represent original scholarly work and must not be simultaneously submitted to another journal. Requirements concerning research integrity and publication conduct are governed by the journal's Publication Ethics policy.

B. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized logically and consistently with the nature of the research. Original research articles should normally contain the following elements:

  1. Title. The title should be concise, informative, and preferably not exceed 15 words. Avoid unnecessary abbreviations and acronyms.
  2. Abstract. The abstract should contain approximately 100–250 words and should not contain citations. It should briefly state the research objective, methodology or research design, principal findings, and conclusion.
  3. Keywords. Provide relevant keywords that accurately represent the main concepts, methods, or subject areas of the manuscript.
  4. Introduction. Present the research background, relevant literature, research problem or gap, objective, and significance of the study.
  5. Methods. Describe the research design, materials, data, procedures, analytical methods, and other information necessary to understand and, where appropriate, reproduce the study. A separate proposed method or algorithm subsection may be included when relevant.
  6. Results and Discussion. Present the principal findings clearly and discuss their interpretation, relevance, relationship to previous research, implications, and limitations where appropriate.
  7. Conclusion. Summarize the principal findings and their contribution without merely repeating the results. Recommendations or directions for future research may be included where relevant.
  8. Disclosure Statements. All applicable disclosure statements described in Section C must be included in the manuscript.
  9. References. Authors are expected to provide at least 15 relevant references. References should primarily consist of credible and relevant scholarly sources, with approximately 80% drawn from peer-reviewed journal literature where appropriate to the subject. Authors should prioritize current and directly relevant literature rather than selecting references solely to satisfy a numerical requirement.

C. Disclosure Statements

To promote transparency and research integrity, authors must provide the following statements where applicable. When no relevant funding, conflict, acknowledgement, or AI-assisted use exists, this should be stated explicitly.

Author Contributions

The manuscript should describe the contribution of each author to the work. Authorship and contributorship must accurately reflect substantial scholarly contributions to the research and manuscript.

Funding

Authors must disclose all financial support, grants, or other funding received for the research and/or preparation of the manuscript, including the name of the funding organization and grant number when applicable. If no external funding was received, authors should state: "This research received no external funding."

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, professional, personal, institutional, or other relationships that could reasonably be perceived to influence the research or its interpretation. If no competing interests exist, authors should state: "The authors declare no conflict of interest."

Acknowledgements

Individuals, institutions, facilities, or organizations that contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship may be acknowledged with appropriate permission. If there are no acknowledgements, authors may state: "Not applicable."

Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies Disclosure

Authors must disclose the use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies when such tools have materially assisted the preparation, analysis, presentation, or language editing of the manuscript. The disclosure should identify the tool and briefly describe how it was used. AI tools must not be listed as authors and cannot assume responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, or originality of scholarly work.

Authors remain fully responsible for all submitted content. Detailed requirements concerning acceptable and unacceptable uses of AI are governed by the journal's AI Ethics and Procedure policy.

Data Availability Statement

Authors should state whether the data supporting the findings of the study are publicly available, available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request, subject to ethical or legal restrictions, or not applicable to the study. Repository names, dataset identifiers, or persistent links should be provided when available.

Ethics Approval

Research involving human participants, animals, personal data, or other activities requiring ethical oversight must include information concerning approval or exemption from the relevant ethics committee or institutional authority, where applicable. Authors should provide the institution and approval identifier when available.

D. Research and Reporting Quality

Authors are responsible for presenting their research accurately, transparently, and with sufficient methodological detail to allow readers to evaluate the validity of the work.

  • Data, figures, tables, and statistical results must be presented accurately and must not be fabricated, falsified, or misleadingly manipulated.
  • Sources of data and materials should be identified sufficiently to support transparency and reproducibility where applicable.
  • Appropriate permissions must be obtained for copyrighted third-party materials included in the manuscript.
  • Relevant ethical approval, informed consent, or other regulatory requirements must be reported when applicable to the research.

E. Before Submission

Before completing a submission, authors should verify that:

  • The manuscript follows the official DEMETER template.
  • The manuscript is written in English.
  • The title and abstract comply with the journal requirements.
  • Citations and references follow IEEE style.
  • All authors and their affiliations are correctly identified.
  • Required disclosure statements have been included.
  • Tables, figures, and supplementary materials are properly identified.
  • The manuscript has not been submitted simultaneously to another journal.
